2021 L'Astre - Syrah
Gold - 2024 13th Annual Sip Magazine “Best of the Northwest”
A fresh new release of our Walla Walla Syrah, born in the Rocks!
Tasting notes
Nose: The nose is complex with a hint of pipe tabacco and black licorice in a bath of warm red/dark plums.
Taste: On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and rich with soft tannins and acid. We get black rasberry, loganberry, ripe plum for fruits and a slight agave syrup but it is hard to describe. If you mixed cherry cola and Dr. Pepper I think this may be it. The mouthfeel is so elegant and coats your entire mouth with just a spike of spice at the end.
Overall, this Walla Walla Valley Syrah (Oregon) leaves for a loss of words. It is elegant in it's simplicity and a true reflection of how fine Syrah can be. Don't talk, just drink.
