2021 Le Cavalier - Mourvedre
Platinum - 2023 Sip Magazine 12th Annual Best of the Northwest wine competition
Tasting notes
Nose: The aroma of the Oregon/Washington Mourvedre kicks off with intense fruit notes of ripe strawberry, bing cherry and logan berries. There is also a strong spice contingent that I can't quite identify but reminds me of African spice.
Taste: Full-bodied, well-balanced with ripe cherry, berry and plum notes. The acidity is soft and subtle adding to the structure. We are loving this Mourvedre.
Syrah used to be my go to for pulled pork and/or other BBQ'd meats but I find I like the how the Mourvedre mimics and then accentuates the bbq flavor.
